Mission

     "The Department of Animal Control is a self funded agency with a commitment to the prevention and control of the spread of rabies. The department is responsible for administering the inoculation of dogs against rabies and issuing inoculation tags for each dog owned and or housed within the county, handling calls for service concerning all animal bites, animal welfare, and problems relating to invasive dogs throughout the county, and stray dogs in the unincorporated part of the county. These activities are accomplished through the enforcement of county ordinances and state statutes as they relate to companion animals, and by educating pet owners on proper care of their animals. We strive to reunite stray pets with their owners and find homes for unclaimed pets and for pets that the owner can no longer care for."
